The Milwaukee Brewers acquired catcher Bo Naylor and right-handed reliever Codi Heuer from the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. In exchange, the Brewers sent outfielder Blake Perkins and right-handed pitcher Craig Yoho to Cleveland.
The trade is official. Both Naylor and Heuer will report to Triple-A for the Brewers. The deal opens two spots on Milwaukee’s active roster.
Naylor is a left handed hitting catcher. He was born in Mississauga, Ontario, in 2000. He has played for the Guardians organization since being selected in the first round of the 2018 draft. In limited action this season with Cleveland, Naylor posted a .143 batting average with two home runs and seven RBI over 28 games. His career numbers include a .199 average, 40 home runs, and 125 RBI across multiple seasons.
Yoho is a 26 year old right handed pitcher. The Brewers selected him in the eighth round of the 2023 draft out of Indiana University. He made his major league debut with Milwaukee in 2025 and has worked primarily as a reliever. Yoho has spent time at both the major league and Triple-A levels this year.
Perkins has served as an outfielder for the Brewers. Heuer is a right handed reliever who has appeared for the Guardians.
The trade involves four players moving between the two American League clubs. Naylor provides catching depth for Milwaukee’s organization. Yoho and Perkins head to Cleveland as part of the return package.
Both teams confirmed the transaction. Naylor and Heuer will begin their time with the Brewers in the minor leagues while roster adjustments continue at the major league level. The deal was completed on August 1.
