The Pittsburgh Penguins added forward Markus Ruck with the 39th overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NHL Draft on Saturday.
Markus is the twin brother of Liam Ruck, who was taken by the same team at No. 22 in the first round. Both players come from the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League, where they often played on the same line and produced strong numbers together.
The brothers are committed to the University of North Dakota for the 2027-28 season. Markus, a center from Osoyoos, British Columbia, brings size and skill as a prospect.
With the back to back selections, Pittsburgh now has a pair of young forwards with a shared history and on ice chemistry. The team will look to develop them as part of its future plans.
