Russell Wilson has officially retired from the NFL. The quarterback announced the decision on social media Wednesday in a short video message after playing 14 seasons in the league.
Wilson began his career as a third-round pick with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. He led the team to a Super Bowl win in 2014 and reached the Super Bowl again two years later.
He later played for the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers before finishing his playing days. In the announcement, Wilson thanked fans, teammates and coaches for the journey.
He is expected to join CBS Sports as a studio analyst.
