The Tampa Bay Buccaneers posted a video interview with wide receiver Emeka Egbuka on Tuesday in which he discussed his recent wedding. Egbuka married Laney Matriano on July 3, 2026.
The couple had announced their engagement earlier in the year. Matriano is a former soccer player from Notre Dame.
In the interview, conducted on the practice field, Egbuka answered questions about the wedding day. He said he teared up when his bride walked down the aisle. He noted that he felt more familiar with the nerves of an NFL game than those of the wedding ceremony because of his years of playing football.
Egbuka described his wedding attire as a non traditional chocolate brown suit. He said he danced to only one song during the reception. When asked about a group photo at a craps table, he referenced the movie The Hangover. He also mentioned receiving Lola blankets from the wedding registry and said the couple had completed a beach honeymoon.
Egbuka is a first round draft pick from Ohio State who joined the Buccaneers in 2025. He is currently participating in the team’s training camp at the AdventHealth Training Center.
Egbuka continues his preparation for the upcoming NFL season as a newly married player on the Buccaneers roster.
