The Baltimore Ravens placed offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji on the reserve/retired list. The team announced the move on Sunday.
Adeniji signed with the Ravens on July 25 after participating in a tryout. He spent a short time with the team during training camp before deciding to retire.
The 28 year old offensive tackle was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in 55 games during his career and made 16 starts. Adeniji appeared in games for the Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and other teams.
He contributed as a right tackle during Cincinnati’s run to Super Bowl LVI. Adeniji also made starts during the Bengals 2021 AFC Championship season.
The Ravens added Adeniji to provide depth on the offensive line. His placement on the reserve/retired list removes him from the active roster and ends his playing career for the 2026 season.
Adeniji’s decision came after limited time in Baltimore practices. The team continues its preparations for the upcoming NFL season with the remaining members of the offensive line group.
