Dallas Cowboys defensive end Charles Snowden has been suspended by the NFL for the first three games of the 2026 regular season. The league announced the decision on Tuesday through its transaction wire.
The suspension comes from a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. It stems from Snowden’s December 2024 arrest for DUI while he was with the Las Vegas Raiders. Snowden later entered a no contest plea, paid a $1,000 fine, and completed classes. The charge was reduced to reckless driving.
Snowden remains eligible to take part in all preseason activities and games. His suspension will begin once the roster is cut to 53 players. The 28 year old signed with the Cowboys last month after posting career best numbers with the Raiders in 2025.
The Cowboys now face questions about their edge rush depth. They have other options on the roster, but the loss of Snowden for the opening games could affect early season plans. Head coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Jerry Jones have not commented publicly on the matter.
Snowden has appeared in limited regular-season games over his career. He recorded his best sack total with the Raiders last year. The team will monitor his status closely as training camp approaches.
