On the July 14 episode of WWE Raw, Bayley brought Lyra Valkyria out for a face to face talk. The two had worked together before, but things had changed after Lyra turned against Bayley in recent weeks. Bayley wanted to clear the air and possibly get an apology.
Lyra did not hold back during the exchange. She told Bayley that everything positive she had said in the past was a lie. Lyra called her a doormat rather than a real locker room leader. She said Bayley’s face does not belong on WWE posters and that Bayley pulls down everyone around her. Lyra finished by stating that Bayley has always been the worst of the Four Horsewomen.
The Four Horsewomen is the name given to a group of wrestlers from years ago. It included Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks, who later became known as Mercedes Mone. The group helped bring more attention to women’s wrestling in WWE starting from their time in NXT.
Bayley responded by talking about her own record in the company. She pointed out that she was the first woman to achieve the WWE Women’s Grand Slam. She listed other accomplishments and made it clear she was not backing down. Bayley accepted a challenge and said she would beat Lyra at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event show, which takes place at Madison Square Garden on July 18.
The talk turned physical when Lyra attacked Bayley. Lyra used the Bayley-to-Belly suplex to knock her down and stood over her as the segment closed. WWE later added the singles match between Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to the Saturday Night’s Main Event card.
