The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 in double overtime in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday night.
Shea Theodore scored the winning goal in the second extra period. The victory put Vegas ahead 2-1 in the best of seven series.
Vegas built a 4-0 lead after two periods. Carolina pulled starting goaltender Frederik Andersen in the third and mounted a comeback, scoring three goals in 39 seconds to cut the deficit and tying the game late. The Hurricanes forced overtime for the second straight game.
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET in Las Vegas. It will air on ABC, Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
