The Toronto Marlies have advanced to the Calder Cup Final after defeating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the Eastern Conference Final.
Alex Nylander scored the overtime winner in the clinching game against his former team. The victory marked the Marlies first trip to the AHL title series since 2018 and their fifth appearance in franchise history, including time as the New Brunswick Hawks and St. John’s Maple Leafs.
The Maple Leafs top affiliate will now play for the league championship. No opponent or schedule for the Calder Cup Final has been announced yet.
