The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-4 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday night in Raleigh. Vegas trailed 2-0 early in the first period but rallied with goals from five different players and held on for the win.
Tomas Hertl scored the game winner late as the Knights overcame the slow start and took a 1-0 series lead. Carolina pushed back in the third but could not tie it up.

Both teams showed the playoff form that got them here in a tight, high-scoring opener. Game 2 is Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET, again at Lenovo Center, and will air on ABC, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports.
