Nikolaj Ehlers captured the Stanley Cup as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.
The 30 year old forward signed with the team last summer after spending his first 10 NHL seasons with the Winnipeg Jets. He joined Carolina on a six year contract and quickly became a key part of the lineup.
In the 2026 playoffs, Ehlers contributed points and played a role in the team’s run to the finals. The Hurricanes defeated the Golden Knights to claim the title, their first since 2006. Ehlers scored during the series, including an empty net goal in one of the games.
Ehlers has spoken about his time with both teams. He said Winnipeg holds a special place in his heart and noted the fit he found in Carolina.
