Nikolaj Ehlers recorded three assists in Game 5 as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 on Thursday night.
The win gave Carolina a 3-2 lead in the best of seven series. Ehlers, who joined the Hurricanes as a free agent last offseason, has been a key contributor throughout the playoffs with his speed and playmaking.
Andrei Svechnikov scored two power play goals in the game, while Jordan Staal and Sebastian Aho also found the net. The Hurricanes now head to Las Vegas for Game 6 on Sunday with a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
Ehlers has tallied multiple points in recent games and remains an important part of the team’s attack heading into the potential clincher.
