The Boston Bruins traded the rights to forward Andre Gasseau and their 2026 fourth round pick to the San Jose Sharks. In return, the Bruins received the Sharks 2026 fourth round pick and a fifth round selection.
Gasseau, a Boston College captain and the Bruins seventh round pick from 2021, had not signed with the team. The move allows Boston to move up 16 spots in the fourth round of next week’s NHL Draft while adding an extra pick.

The Bruins now hold eight selections in the 2026 draft. The Sharks gain a prospect with local ties and NHL potential in exchange for the later picks. The trade was completed earlier this week, ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft, which begins June 26 in Buffalo.
