The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired defenseman Bowen Byram and forward Jordan Greenway from the Buffalo Sabres. In return, the Sabres received the No. 4 and No. 45 overall picks in the 2026 NHL Draft along with defenseman Louis Crevier.
The teams announced the deal on Tuesday. Byram, who has played for the Sabres in recent seasons, adds experience on the blue line. Greenway brings size and physical play to the forward group.

For the Blackhawks, the move brings in established NHL players as the team continues to build around its young core. The Sabres gain high draft selections and a prospect in Crevier, giving them flexibility ahead of the draft.
The trade comes just days before the 2026 NHL Draft begins. Both teams will look to integrate the new pieces into their rosters for the upcoming season.
