In the multi part post, James said he thought he was done playing after the last season ended. He explained that he needed time to decide and was not ready to announce anything right away. He noted that he was honest in his final press conference when he said he needed to look at himself and decide if he still loved the game.

James wrote that he still truly loves the game and has more to give. He described the past few weeks as special because he had time to think without knowing what to do next. He spent months with the people he loves figuring things out.

He called this his last decision. James stated he is not going for money or for family. He asked what he is really playing for at this point. He said he still wants to sacrifice, work, grind, compete, and win to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.

James wrote that he believes he can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team. He said he is excited to energize a new fan base and start this journey one last time.

He closed by thanking Los Angeles. He said Miami will forever be loved and Northeast Ohio will always be home.

James is a four time NBA champion and the league’s all time leading scorer. The announcement comes after he informed the Los Angeles Lakers he would play elsewhere next season.
