Jaylen Brown will hold his introductory press conference as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET. The event takes place at the team’s practice facility.
Brown joins the 76ers after a trade from the Boston Celtics. The deal sent Brown to Philadelphia in exchange for Paul George and multiple draft picks. The transaction ended Brown’s 10 year tenure with the Celtics, where he won an NBA championship and earned Finals MVP honors in 2024.
The five time All-Star has shared limited public comments since the trade. In earlier remarks, Brown said he felt a lack of respect during the process involving the Celtics organization. He stated that actions speak louder than words and noted he was still processing the move while expressing excitement for the next chapter.

Brown has also discussed his anticipation for playing alongside LeBron James, who signed with the 76ers this offseason. He described the opportunity to learn from James as significant. Brown mentioned adjusting his training and losing weight to prepare for the team’s pace alongside players such as Tyrese Maxey.
The press conference marks Brown’s first formal appearance with the 76ers. Team officials and media will address the transition. Later on Thursday, Brown is scheduled to throw out the first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies game against the Washington Nationals.
The 76ers have added other players this offseason, including Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Coach Nick Nurse has noted improvements to the roster depth. Brown’s arrival pairs him with Joel Embiid and the existing core as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
Brown is expected to discuss his move, goals with the new team, and adjustment to Philadelphia.
