The 23rd annual Park City Extreme Cup youth soccer tournament is underway in the Wasatch Back. The event runs from July 30 through August 1, 2026.
More than 460 teams from eight states are taking part. Players range in age from 9U to 19U for both boys and girls. The tournament is organized by the Park City Soccer Club. It is a sanctioned U.S. Youth Soccer event. U.S. Club Soccer teams are also eligible.
Games are spread across multiple locations in the Wasatch Back. Fields in use include sites in Park City such as City Park, Ecker Hill, Matt Knoop Park, the high school sports complex, North 40 fields, Willow Creek, and Trailside Park. Additional matches are scheduled in Oakley and Heber, including at JR Smith Elementary, Rocky Mountain Middle School, and Wasatch High School.
The tournament brings thousands of players, coaches, and family members to the area. Local officials have noted increased traffic during the event. Drivers are advised to check maps and updates for parking and road conditions around the fields.
Park City municipal crews prepared the fields ahead of the tournament. Workers used equipment including a specialized robot to help maintain the playing surfaces.
Pool play takes place on the first two days. Semifinals and finals are set for August 1. The event ranks among the larger youth soccer tournaments held in Utah each year.
The Park City Soccer Club has hosted the Extreme Cup for more than two decades. It continues to draw teams from across the region and beyond for competitive matches on the Wasatch Back fields.
