Stephen Farrelly, known in wrestling as Sheamus, posted a farewell message to WWE on social media. The post read.
Farrelly has updated his social media accounts to use his real name, S. Farrelly. He changed his profile and bio to simply say “Pro Wrestler.” WWE moved his profile from the active roster to the alumni section. These changes followed reports that his contract had expired.
Farrelly last wrestled on the November 17, 2025 episode of Raw. He had been out since undergoing shoulder surgery in December 2025. Reports from Fightful Select stated that WWE offered him a restructured contract with reduced terms during his recovery. Farrelly rejected the offer and chose to let his contract end rather than accept the new deal.
Farrelly spent nearly 20 years with WWE. He became a four time world champion during his time with the company. He was known for his physical style and the phrase “banger after banger,” which he used to describe his matches. His final in-ring appearances included teaming with Rey Mysterio and John Cena in a match against The Judgment Day.
The departure comes as WWE has seen other veterans leave in recent months. Farrelly’s choice to step away ends a long run that began when he debuted on the main roster in 2009. His post on July 10 served as his public confirmation of moving on from the company.
Farrelly has not announced any immediate plans for future wrestling work. The post marks the end of his active connection to WWE after nearly two decades with the promotion.
