Valkyries 88, Fever 75: Kaitlyn Chen Scores 14 off Bench

The Golden State Valkyries beat the Indiana Fever 88-75 on Wednesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It was their eighth straight win.

Kaitlyn Chen scored 14 points off the bench. The guard made all five of her field goal attempts and added four of five free throws. She recorded three assists, one steal and one turnover in about 10 minutes of court time. All five of her makes came in the paint. Her true shooting percentage was 97.2.

Chen was part of a bench group that outscored Indiana's reserves 43-21. Gabby Williams led Golden State with 16 points on 12 shots and added three steals. Tiffany Hayes scored 13 points and made all seven of her free throws. Kayla Thornton had 11 points and eight rebounds. Janelle Salaun added 12. Kiah Stokes pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.

The Valkyries shot 51.7 percent from the field and 87 percent from the line. They scored 22 points off Indiana turnovers and made 16 of 18 attempts at the rim. Golden State led by as many as 15 and closed the fourth quarter 30-24.

Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 20 points. Aliyah Boston added 15 points and seven rebounds. Caitlin Clark scored 13 on 4-of-14 shooting with six assists and four turnovers. Indiana shot 40.3 percent and turned the ball over 16 times.

Golden State returns home to face the Washington Mystics on Saturday.
