Victor Wembanyama called it special to play alongside De’Aaron Fox this season and said the veteran guard has made a big difference for the young San Antonio Spurs.
“It’s been great,” Wembanyama told reporters. “I think it’s been saving us a lot of trouble over the course of the season. Sometimes he makes things very easy for us, and he is the experienced guy that we have always been able to turn to when we need it. It’s easy to forget that our guards are really young, and how precious he has been for them.”

Fox joined the Spurs before the 2025-26 season and has started alongside Wembanyama in the backcourt. The 22 year old Wembanyama, now in his third NBA year, pointed to Fox’s steady presence both on the court and in the locker room as a key part of the team’s run to the 2026 NBA Finals.
The Spurs face the New York Knicks in the Finals and trail the series 2-0 heading into Game 3 on Monday night.
