The Washington Mystics defeated the New York Liberty 86-83 on Friday night at Barclays Center.
Kiki Iriafen led the Mystics with 20 points. She scored the go ahead layup with 27 seconds left in the game. Sonia Citron added 16 points, six rebounds and eight assists.
The win snapped the Liberty’s eight game winning streak. New York had been playing well at home, but the Mystics held on after leading at several points.
Washington improved to 7-7 on the season with the road victory. The team showed strong play in the fourth quarter to secure the close win against a strong opponent.
