Former Cleveland Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov said he was not invited to a recent reunion trip by his 2016 championship teammates.
The group gathered in Europe to mark the 10 year anniversary of the title win. Mozgov, who played for the Cavs that season, told Russian media outlet Sport Express that no one from the team reached out to him.
“Yes, I saw the video of that party. No one wrote or called me. If I’d been invited, I’d have gladly joined. Of course, I’d have loved to be there too, to drink some wine,” he said.
Mozgov was part of the roster during the 2015-16 season when the Cavs defeated the Golden State Warriors in the Finals. The reunion focused on key contributors from that team. He expressed disappointment but did not criticize anyone specifically.
The comments come amid ongoing interest in the 2016 Cavs squad, one of the most memorable championship teams in recent NBA history. Mozgov, now 39, has been out of the league for several years.
