Mabrey Ties WNBA Three Point Record With 9 Threes in Tempo Win

Marina Mabrey scored a career high 37 points and tied the WNBA single game record with nine three pointers as the Toronto Tempo beat the Connecticut Sun 101-97 on Friday night at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Mabrey shot 9 of 12 from beyond the arc and 14 of 24 overall. She scored 21 of her points in the fourth quarter as Toronto erased a 16 point second half deficit. The Sun led 50-37 at halftime. The Tempo outscored Connecticut 64-47 after the break.

She became the seventh player to hit nine threes in a WNBA game. Chelsea Gray did it eight days earlier. Rhyne Howard did it twice in 2025. Arike Ogunbowale, Jewell Loyd and Kelsey Mitchell also hold the mark.

Temi Fagbenle had 19 points on 8 of 9 shooting and 9 rebounds. Maria Conde added 19 points off the bench. Toronto made 19 threes as a team, tied for second most in a regular season game in league history.

Mabrey was selected by Toronto in the expansion draft and named a core player. She played last season in Connecticut. The win snapped a three game skid for the first year franchise.
