The New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in four straight games to win the 2026 NBA championship.
The series ended Thursday night. The Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, looked emotionally spent after a long Western Conference Finals run. The Knicks came in rested and focused.
Mitchell Robinson’s hand was never an issue. The center stayed on the court and gave the Knicks size and defense against Wembanyama. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges handled the scoring and playmaking. Josh Hart played his usual tough style and pushed back against analytics talk all series.
The young Spurs team showed inexperience in the biggest moments. Knicks fans said the pressure proved too much for San Antonio’s group.
New Yorkers filled the streets after the final horn. The city had not seen this kind of basketball celebration in decades. The Knicks now head into the offseason as champions.
