Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum delivered a career high 43 points to help her team beat the Phoenix Mercury 111-102 in overtime on June 13.
Plum finished with 14 made field goals, five three pointers and seven assists in 37 minutes. Her scoring outburst came in a back and forth Commissioner's Cup game that featured 14 lead changes. Mercury forward Kahleah Copper answered with a career best 41 points, creating a high scoring duel between the two All Stars.
The win improved the Sparks record and kept them competitive in the Western Conference early in the 2026 season. Plum, who averaged around 26.6 points per game entering the matchup, has taken on a larger offensive role since joining the Sparks. She re signed with Los Angeles on a one year deal worth $999,999 in April, choosing a reduced salary to give the team more flexibility in building its roster after arriving via trade from the Las Vegas Aces in 2025.
Plum’s performance highlighted her ability to carry the offense when needed while also facilitating for teammates. The Sparks continue their push under coach Lynne Roberts, with Plum’s production forming a key part of their early season identity.
