Jeremy Lin was back at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, watching the New York Knicks play in the NBA Finals for the first time since he left the team more than a decade ago.
The former point guard attended the game as a fan while the Knicks lead the San Antonio Spurs 2-0 in the series. Lin, who sparked the 2012 Knicks run known as Linsanity, has stayed connected to the franchise through the years.
The 37 year old now works as an NBA analyst for ESPN. He appeared on Sportscenter with Scott Van Pelt after Game 2 and pointed to the Spurs inexperience and fatigue as the main reasons they blew a late lead. He noted how the Knicks, led by Jalen Brunson, handle those situations better.
Karl-Anthony Towns, a current Knicks big man, has said Lin is the reason he became a Knicks fan as a kid. Lin told reporters it felt good to be back in the building where he once played.
