Kansas guard Darryn Peterson has met with the Washington Wizards and does not plan to hold workouts or meetings with any other NBA teams before next week’s draft.
The 19 year old from Canton, Ohio, played one season with the Jayhawks. He averaged more than 20 points per game as a freshman and earned second team All Big 12 honors.
Peterson entered college as one of the top recruits in the country after a strong high school career. Scouts view him as a versatile scorer who can play shooting guard or point guard.
The Wizards hold the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft. Peterson’s choice to limit his pre draft process has drawn attention around the league as teams prepare for the June 25 selections.
