College World Series Set for June in Omaha

The NCAA Division I baseball tournament is moving forward, with regionals wrapping up and super regionals starting soon. The top eight teams will head to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha for the Men's College World Series, which begins on June 12.

No teams from last year's College World Series have reached the super regionals this time around. That marks the second straight year with a new group in Omaha.

In recent regional play, top seed UCLA was eliminated in extra innings by Saint Mary's. Other surprises have included Little Rock advancing to its first super regional after sweeping through Hattiesburg. Teams like Troy are also in strong positions heading into the next round.

The double-elimination format in regionals has already produced long games and upsets. Super regionals, scheduled for June 5 to 8, will decide the final eight for Omaha. The championship series there runs through June 21 or 22.

Fans expect competitive baseball as the field narrows. The road to the title continues this week with more elimination games.
