Cam Whitmore of the Washington Wizards turned 22 years today on July 8. The forward, who was born in Odenton, Maryland, received birthday wishes from NBA fans and accounts on social media.
Whitmore joined the Wizards after being drafted 20th overall by the Houston Rockets in 2023. He played college basketball at Villanova before entering the league. In the 2025-26 season, he appeared in 21 games for Washington. He averaged 9.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game while playing about 17 minutes each night.
His shooting splits that season were 45.6 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from three-point range, and 74.2 percent from the free throw line. Whitmore came off the bench in most of his appearances and provided scoring and energy for the team.
His season ended early after he was diagnosed with a blood clot issue in his right shoulder in late December 2025. Doctors ruled him out for the rest of the year in January 2026. The Wizards will look to him for more playing time in the upcoming season as he continues to develop.
