Brunson Brings Wrestling Talk to Knicks Championship Celebration

New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside teammates and coach Mike Brown to mark the team’s 2026 NBA title win over the San Antonio Spurs.

During the segment, the group discussed team superstitions. Fallon brought up WWE wrestler Danhausen, who had publicly engaged with Knicks storylines earlier in the playoffs by referencing curses and later lifting one. Brunson acknowledged the connection, noting he had been skeptical at first but now saw reason to believe after the championship run.

Brunson has shown interest in professional wrestling before. In 2024, he made a surprise appearance at WWE SmackDown inside Madison Square Garden. He stepped into the ring area during a match involving Logan Paul and LA Knight, confronting rival Tyrese Haliburton from the Indiana Pacers and later holding a steel chair.

The Knicks first title in 53 years has drawn attention from wrestling circles, including posts tying Brunson’s on court leadership to earlier crossovers. Brunson was named Finals MVP after strong performances, including 45 points in the closeout Game 5.
