Brittney Griner has passed Margo Dydek to become the WNBA’s career leader in blocked shots. The Connecticut Sun center reached the mark during a recent win over the Chicago Sky.
Griner finished that game with 14 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and three assists. Her four blocks that night pushed her past Dydek’s record of 877. Griner now sits at 878 career blocks.
Griner has long been one of the league’s top shot blockers. She earned multiple blocks titles during her time with the Phoenix Mercury and continues to anchor the frontcourt for the Sun. The achievement adds to her list of career accomplishments that include All Star selections and a WNBA title.
The record reflects her consistent defensive impact across more than a decade in the league.
