Chipotle School Spirit BOGO Deal on August 20

Listen to this article2:39

Chipotle Mexican Grill offered a one day School Spirit BOGO promotion on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at participating restaurants across the United States. Customers who wore school apparel or accessories could purchase one entree and receive a second entrée of equal or greater value at no additional cost. The offer ran from 3 p.m. local time until closing.

Eligible items included t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, hats, and other clothing or accessories linked to middle schools, high schools, or colleges. Restaurant staff determined whether the apparel qualified. The promotion applied only to in-restaurant orders. It did not cover mobile, online, delivery, or catering purchases.

Each free entree required the purchase of another entree of equal or greater value. The deal was limited to five free entrees per check and remained subject to availability. Purchased items still earned Chipotle Rewards points. The offer could not be combined with other coupons, promotions, or special offers.

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced the School Spirit BOGO on August 17, 2026, as part of its back to school season activities. Stephanie Perdue, senior vice president of brand marketing at Chipotle, stated that the back to school period involves showing school spirit and returning to weekly routines. She noted that the offers aim to meet guests with real food and value during those times.

The company also scheduled three Chipotle Sundays promotions. On August 23, August 30, and September 6, 2026, customers in the United States and Canada who order two or more entrées after 3 p.m. local time through the Chipotle app or their website can receive one free entree by entering the code SUNDAYS at checkout. This digital offer follows the same general restrictions on combination with other promotions.

Entrees under both promotions typically include burritos, burrito bowls, orders of three tacos, quesadillas ordered digitally, and salads. Kids meals and certain limited items did not qualify as the required purchase. Reports from social media platforms indicated long lines formed at some locations during the School Spirit BOGO hours as customers arrived wearing school related clothing.

The School Spirit BOGO and Chipotle Sundays form the latest limited-time value offers from the chain during the start of the academic year.
