The American League All-Stars hold a 4-0 lead over the National League All-Stars in the top of the ninth inning of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
Justin Wrobleski of the Los Angeles Dodgers made his first All-Star appearance on his birthday and pitched a clean seventh inning for the National League. He struck out Travis Bazzana, Ceddanne Rafaela and Yandy Díaz on 12 pitches. Wrobleski reached 97 miles per hour on his final fastball to end the frame. The outing marked the only time in the game so far that a pitcher struck out the side in order.
Wrobleski, added to the roster as a replacement earlier in the week, followed American League starter Dylan Cease with strong work. The National League managed just three hits through eight innings against American League pitching. Dave Roberts, the National League manager and Dodgers skipper, turned to Wrobleski in the middle innings as part of the staff’s effort to keep the game close.
Wrobleski later allowed one run in the eighth on a home run but finished with five strikeouts in two innings of work. The performance highlighted the 26 year old’s first half success with the Dodgers, where he posted a 10-2 record and 2.69 ERA.
The American League built its lead early with runs in the first inning and added more later against National League pitching. The game continues with the American League protecting the shutout heading into the final outs.
