Joe Amabile is home recovering after brain surgery. Doctors removed the full blueberry sized glioma. Wife Serena Pitt confirms he is doing well and shared a quiet park walk update. Rest continues for the Bachelor in Paradise alum.
Joe Amabile has returned home following brain surgery to remove a lesion doctors identified as a possible glioma. The 40 year old reality television personality known from The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise shared the latest details through social media posts this week. His wife Serena Pitt also provided updates on his progress.
In July, Amabile announced that a full body scan followed by a brain MRI revealed a blueberry sized lesion. Medical professionals described it as appearing to be an early stage glioma, a type of brain tumor. He scheduled a craniotomy to remove the growth and have it tested. The procedure took place earlier this month.

On August 6, Amabile posted photos from his hospital room showing a bandage around his head. He wrote that the surgical team got it all. Serena Pitt confirmed the same day that the entire tumor was removed and that her husband was recovering well in the hospital. She remained at his side during the stay.
Amabile was discharged from the New York hospital around August 8 or 9. Pitt posted that they were grateful to the medical staff at NYU Langone Health for their care and patience. She noted that Joe is home recovering. One image showed him resting on a couch in their New York City apartment. Pitt stated there would be lots of rest and recovery ahead.

On August 10, Pitt shared another update. She posted a photo of Amabile sitting outdoors during a short walk that morning and described it as a beautiful little moment of normalcy. The couple has expressed appreciation for the support received from family, friends, and viewers.
Amabile first met Pitt while filming Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise. The pair later married. No further medical details beyond the successful removal and current rest period have been released by the couple. Amabile continues to recover at home under medical guidance.
