Venus Williams and Alexandra Eala won their opening doubles match at the Bad Homburg Open on Wednesday.
The pair defeated Catherine Harrison and Alexandra Osborne 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 16. They moved on to the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 event.
Eala, who lost in singles earlier in the tournament, teamed up with Williams for the doubles draw. The two players received support to compete together on the grass courts ahead of Wimbledon.

Their next match will be against the second seeded team of Anna Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls. Williams brings her experience as a former world No. 1 and multiple Grand Slam champion. Eala is a rising player from the Philippines who has shown strong results on the WTA Tour this year.
