Serena Williams will make her singles return to Wimbledon after a four year absence. The 44 year old seven time champion received a wild card and will face Australia’s Maya Joint in the first round.
Williams last played singles at the All England Club in 2022. She also accepted a doubles wild card with her sister Venus. The grass court major begins Monday at SW19.

Maya Joint, a rising Australian player, earned the matchup through the draw. The opening round game pits Williams experience against Joint’s current form on grass.
The 23 time Grand Slam winner has been building toward this return with recent matches, including at the HSBC Championships. Wimbledon remains a special place for Williams, where she has won seven titles.
