Emma Raducanu advanced to the semifinals of the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club after a straight sets win over Kamilla Rakhimova in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
The British player defeated Rakhimova 6-3, 7-5. Raducanu led in the second set but slipped and needed medical attention before regaining control to close out the match. Earlier in the week she beat Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-2 and Anna Blinkova 6-0, 6-3.
Raducanu has not dropped a set until the later stages of the quarterfinal and has shown strong form on grass ahead of Wimbledon. She will next face American Iva Jovic in the semifinals later on Saturday.
The 23 year old has played with growing confidence in front of the home crowd at the WTA 500 event.
