Noskova Defeats Badosa in Straight Sets at Berlin Quarterfinals

Linda Noskova defeated Paula Badosa 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Berlin Open on Friday.

The Czech player, ranked around No. 13, controlled the match on the grass court at Steffi Graf Stadion. She broke Badosa’s serve multiple times and limited the Spaniard’s opportunities.

Badosa, currently ranked No. 142, had reached this stage after a three-set upset win over Coco Gauff in the round of 16. That result gave her momentum, but she could not carry it forward against Noskova.

Noskova has now beaten Badosa in both of their meetings. She will face either Elina Svitolina or Alexandra Eala in the semifinals.

The win keeps Noskova on track in a strong grass court stretch heading into Wimbledon. Badosa showed positive signs with her recent results but fell short in this matchup.
