Brandon Nakashima advanced to the semifinals of the HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club on Saturday.
The American defeated top seed Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-3 in the quarterfinals on Friday. Nakashima had earlier beaten Marton Fucsovics and Ignacio Buse in straight sets.

He now faces Francisco Cerundolo in the semifinals. The match was tied at one set each after Nakashima took the first set in a tiebreak and Cerundolo won the second.
Nakashima has won three of his last four matches at the grass court event. The result gives him another strong showing on the surface ahead of Wimbledon.
