Mirra Andreeva is headed to her first Grand Slam final after beating Marta Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3 in the Roland Garros semifinal on Thursday.
The 19-year-old Russian took control early and never let up on the clay in Paris. Kostyuk, who reached her first major semifinal this week, had no answers once Andreeva found her rhythm.
Andreeva has now won 12 straight sets at this year’s French Open. She will play for the title on Saturday against the winner of the other semifinal.
The teenager’s run has been one of the stories of the tournament. She has looked steady and confident throughout, turning in her best performance yet on the biggest stage.
