Victoria Mboko suffered a left knee injury during her singles match at the Queen’s Club on Wednesday and has withdrawn from the doubles tournament.
The 19 year old Canadian slipped behind the baseline while playing Karolina Pliskova. She grabbed her left knee, walked off gingerly, and retired in tears. She later pulled out of Thursday’s quarterfinal doubles match, where she was partnered with Serena Williams.

Williams, who returned to professional tennis this week and won her opening doubles match with Mboko, will not continue in the event. The pair had advanced after beating the third seeds.
Mboko’s injury puts her own Wimbledon preparations in question as well. No further details on the extent of the knee issue have been released. Serena Williams has not announced new plans following the withdrawal.
