Jack Draper is back on court as he prepares for Wimbledon. The British player, who has dealt with knee and arm injuries, pulled out of Queen’s Club but is competing at the Eastbourne tournament this week.
Draper beat fellow Brit Jack Pinnington Jones 7-5, 6-4 in the second round of Eastbourne. He reached the quarterfinals in just his fifth event of the year. He has worked closely with Andy Murray in recent weeks to sharpen his game.
Wimbledon begins next week. Jack Draper is set to face Taylor Fritz in the first round. The draw creates an early test for the 24 year old, who was once ranked as high as No. 4 in the world but has fallen to around No. 113 due to time missed.
Draper has spoken about feeling stable with his injuries and ready to compete on grass. Eastbourne serves as important match play to build confidence before his home Grand Slam.
