American Emma Navarro reached the final of the Lexus Nottingham Open but lost to Marie Bouzkova of the Czech Republic 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 on Sunday.
Navarro, the third seed and ranked No. 25, advanced to the final by beating qualifier Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland in the semifinal on Saturday. She won that match 7-6(5), 6-2 after a close first set that went to a tiebreak.
In the final, Bouzkova, the fourth seed, took the opening set in a tiebreak. Navarro responded by winning the second set 6-4 with strong baseline play and several aces. Bouzkova then pulled ahead in the deciding set to claim the title. It was Bouzkova’s first grass court title. She is expected to move up to a career high ranking of No. 22.
Both players were playing in their first grass court final. The match served as preparation for Wimbledon, which starts next week. Navarro had reached her second final of the 2026 season after winning a title on clay in Strasbourg earlier this month.
