19 Year Old Mirra Andreeva Wins French Open Title

Mirra Andreeva won her first Grand Slam title Saturday by beating qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in the women’s final at Roland Garros.

The 19 year old Russian claimed the 2026 French Open championship in straight sets. Chwalinska, a Polish qualifier, had reached the final in a surprise run that became one of the tournament’s main stories.

Andreeva’s victory makes her the youngest woman to win the French Open since Monica Seles in 1992. She arrived in Paris with strong recent form, including a run to the Madrid final earlier this year.

The match lasted under an hour as Andreeva controlled play from the baseline. She becomes the first teenager to win a major title since Iga Swiatek in 2022.
