The UFC announced it will return to Shanghai, China, for two straight nights of action at the end of August.
On Friday, August 28, the promotion will hold the semifinals for Road to UFC Season 5. Several Asian prospects who advanced from earlier rounds will compete for spots in the tournament finals and a chance at UFC contracts. Japanese fighters and other regional talents are among those expected in the semifinals.
The following night, Saturday, August 29, UFC Fight Night Shanghai takes place at Shanghai Indoor Stadium. This marks the UFC’s return to the city for a standard Fight Night card. Rumors have already started about possible matchups, including Song Yadong in the main event.
The two events give Asian MMA a major spotlight over one weekend. No full fight card has been released yet for either night.
