The White House is turning its south lawn into an MMA arena. Crews finished setting up the UFC Freedom 250 stage on Thursday, with the full fighting cage now in place ahead of the upcoming event.
President Trump suggested the arena could stay as a permanent addition. The UFC has agreed to pay a $700,000 bill to repair the grass once everything is taken down.
The move has sparked plenty of online talk. Some fighters, including Sean Strickland, claimed they were not allowed to attend, while others like Bryce Mitchell shared their thoughts on the whole thing. The event is drawing attention as one of the more unusual fight cards in recent years.
