Gabriel Bonfim earned a dominant unanimous decision victory over Belal Muhammad in the main event of UFC Vegas 118 on Saturday night.
All three judges scored the five round welterweight bout 50-45 for the Brazilian. Bonfim, who fights out of São Paulo, controlled the action from start to finish and improved his record to 20-1 overall and 7-1 inside the UFC.

Muhammad, the former UFC welterweight champion, dropped to 19-7. The loss marks the second defeat in his last three fights.
Bonfim’s win has drawn attention in the welterweight division, where he now sits as one of the top rising contenders. After the fight he told UFC interviewers he felt he belonged in the Octagon the moment he stepped in.
UFC Vegas 118 took place at the UFC Apex. Bonfim’s performance closed out the card as the headline bout.
