Ronaldo, Messi and Ochoa Set for Sixth World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Guillermo Ochoa are on track to become the only three players in history to appear in six different World Cups.
The 2026 tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will mark the milestone for the trio. Ronaldo and Messi both made their debuts in 2006 and have played every one since. Ochoa, who turns 41 next month, is expected to start for Mexico in the opening match.
The Mexican goalkeeper has been with his national team through every cycle since 2006 as well. No other player has reached six World Cup appearances. The three will stand alone once the tournament gets underway this month.
