Kevin Schnall has been hired as the new head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team.
The 49 year old leaves Coastal Carolina, where he spent the last two seasons and led the Chanticleers to the 2025 College World Series final in his first year as head coach. That team posted a program record 56 wins and earned Schnall national coach of the year honors.
Schnall is bringing pitching coach Matt Williams with him. Williams previously coached at South Carolina in 2023 before joining Schnall at Coastal. The move comes after the Gamecocks parted ways with former coach Paul Mainieri following back to back losing seasons.
