Pete Crow Armstrong hit for the cycle Monday night during the Chicago Cubs game against the Colorado Rockies.
The 24 year old center fielder collected a single, double, triple and home run in the same contest. His leadoff homer started things off, followed by a triple and double in later at bats before he added the single. It marked the first cycle in Major League Baseball this season and the 13th in Cubs franchise history.
Crow Armstrong has been one of the team’s more consistent hitters in recent weeks. The achievement came during a stretch where he has produced multiple extra base hits and helped the Cubs offense.
The Cubs fell short in the final score, but Crow Armstrong’s performance stood out as a highlight in an otherwise close game at home. He remains a key part of the lineup as Chicago continues its season.
